Ways to Give

By check
Make check payable to “Marine Debris Foundation” and mail it to:

Marine Debris Foundation
1930 18th St NW Ste B2 – #2400 Washington, DC 20009

If your employer has an Employee Matching Gift Program you can notify them of your gift so that they can match it, doubling the impact.

Gifts of Stock
There are major advantages to donating appreciate securities instead of a cash gift. When you donate stock, you will not pay capital gains tax on the appreciation and, generally, you receive a tax deduction for the full value of the security on the day you donate it. Giving appreciated securities can save you significant money while benefiting MDF. To make a gift of stock, contact info@marinedebrisfoundation.org.

Legacy Gifts
By naming the Marine Debris Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, you can create a legacy of support for the work that matters to you. Including MDF in your will is very easy. Here is language you can use:

I give and bequeath and devise to the Marine Debris Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized under the laws of Washington, DC, [and now you choose the option that works best for you]

% of my estate [or] the sum of $ [or]
all rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used [for the purpose deemed most important to the organization [or] for the purpose of _].

Other legal details:
Legal name: Marine Debris Foundation
Tax ID: 88-4011690

Please talk to your attorney or estate planner to determine the best choice for you.

Are You Age 701/2 or Older?

The withdrawal can be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution. Please consult with your financial manager and then be in touch with MDF at info@marinedebrisfoundation.org.
